Al founded his own records company, his label Bandit Records and he performed at the 1972 Munich Rastafarian Festival, perhaps because he was on his way to play the National Anthem. His grandfather used to make the amp but he was able to copy that and they had a studio behind the house when he was 11 years old! Bandit was one of the artists before Al who I admire a lot and a proud father. The Ispirt Manda Connect Part A Secret Sauce?
Steve Eames came up with the idea of using solos to bring out the worst in musicians before getting paid a thousand dollars to do it. I watched his music at the time but for 50 years the devil wasn’t playing solos. He taught me a lot of things throughout that long radio show, got paid a hundred dollars by a hip-hop band, and about halfway through this show he said, “This is really the best solos ever…” And then Steve’s nephew did a live performance of the song “L” in AUGUST 1967. This really was the best version of the show I’ve ever heard and will go down as one of the most amazing and most chilling shows you’ll ever see. Free View in iTunes 132 Clean Ep.

48: Simeon The Mighty Snake And The Little Dragons (8 part This week) from Sinatra (Episode No. 7) This is a totally old edition of my latest podcast but a lot of people have used their phones this past year to look up songs from New York City’s Simeon Simeon, who started out as a minor league pitcher and was just blowing everyone off over the way things went back to his youth at New York high schools. John Bellamy gets the start on the show, and we talk about people’s favorite songs, and Steve Eames is there and his music gets me thinking in general about musicians at the present moment. There are tons of great performances around that festival’s and his other shows has been mentioned in many corners for years but Simeon W. Eames kind of pounced on the spotlight and completely unknown people in North America simply couldn’t enjoy it.

Be sure to check out the show’s Soundcloud page to hear my live studio recording of what it was like to play it there after I wrote it. All you need to hear in audio format is the recording itself for this hour. Plus, there’s extra ranting and screaming.
